MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator Mini Review
The MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliater was originally released as one of MAC’s limited edition products. However, after the success of this facial scrub and high level of demand it was brought back as a product within MAC’s permanent range. I have been using this particular facial scrub for over 6 months now and am absolutely in love!
Every now and then I like to give my skin a break from my Clarisonic and this is my go-to product, in this time, that I like to use to exfoliate my face. This is one of those products that I thoroughly researched before purchasing and just read one amazing review after the other. After I finally decided to bite the bullet and pick one of these up – I found myself wondering why I hadn’t decided to try it sooner!
I like to use the MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliate pretty much whenever my skin starts to feel a little rough or clogged. I follow with this product after cleansing with whatever face wash I am using in the shower and only use about a pea sized amount. A little really does go a long way! At first use, the smell was something that really got to me. It was a smell that is sooo difficult to describe but all I can say is that it wasn’t pleasant. It is now something that I don’t even notice so if you find this to be the case – keep at it and you might get used to it!
I loovvee this product because the exfoliating beads are not too rough but whilst you are working it into your skin – you know that it is doing its job! I also love the fact that this product doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and as if all of the moisture has been taken out of my face! It leaves my skin feeling very soft and clean. The only two negatives to this product are that it’s quite pricey (retails for $37 here in Australia) and the initial smell. But like I said a little goes go a long way, this product will last you for a long time and for me personally, the smell was only a temporary issue.
Overall this is definitely a product that I would recommend; it completely works for my skin and is a product that I will definitely continue to re-purchase.
